Digital Wallet: COVID contact tracing at national scale
Led iOS development of the Service Victoria Digital Wallet, the state of Victoria's COVID contact-tracing and check-in solution. At its peak the app registered up to 8.1 million check-ins a day, was the most downloaded app in Australia in 2021, and holds more than 6 million digital vaccination certificates. Its QR-launched App Clip was the highest-use App Clip in Asia-Pacific and in the top five globally.
Migrated dependency management to Swift Package Manager, cutting app load times by roughly 7.5 seconds, and helped the client bring development in-house, growing their team from 1 to 14 developers per platform. Recognised with a Victorian Premier's Design Award nomination, with a focus on user experience, security and privacy.
